The stability of the electricity grid is essential for its coordinated functioning. The transmission system operator, which in our case is CEPS (Czech Energy Transmission System), is responsible for maintaining the balance between energy production and consumption. In an idealised state, exactly as much energy should be produced as is immediately needed. Any deviation from either surplus or shortage of energy can lead to significant problems, including power outages.
Possibility of connection to the system
Everyone who owns energy equipment or has the ability to regulate their consumption can contribute to maintaining this balance. By offering some of your generating capacity or even the possibility to reduce your consumption, you can help stabilise the system. You will be rewarded for this help - not only for activating your equipment when needed, but also for reserving capacity if your equipment is not being used at the time.

In the event of an outage, for example when a power plant unit fails, it is essential that the operator responds quickly. CEPS will need to activate the appropriate support services, which include alternative energy sources to replace the missing power at that moment. This system ensures that the grid remains stable and operational, while providing financial opportunities for those who get involved.
